TAKE Solo Exhibition gin misth

NY Coo Gallery in September features TAKA and his first solo exhibition in the U.S.

gShinpah is a 160cm-tall (Approx. 5f4h) white figure created by TAKE in 2006. With a simple round body and an even simpler face, more you look at Shinpa, more you feel a strange yet pleasant sense of closeness - intimacy - towards him (or whatever).
TAKE first came up with Shinpa while doodling. He eventually gave Shinpa a life as a 3D figure and started using it as a motif for his paintings. For TAKE, Shinpa is the representation of his inner-self. It is also the messenger of his thoughts. Through Shinpa is how TAKE communicates with his audience.

gI want create a space where my audience is immersed in good feeling simply by being there. I want to create art that makes people smile,h says TAKE. gWhat I mean by art is the art that is crammed with all my silly everyday questions and problems as well as the idea of esimple, good feeling,f however ambiguous that may sound.h
gA question without an answer, a smile without a reasonh is what dictates TAKEfs creative philosophy.

TAKA has published gKatari Shosasshi (A Little Narrative Book)h to accompany each of his exhibitions, held primarily in Tokyo and its surrounding areas. In gKatari Shosasshi,h TAKE, through art and words, masterfully creates a world that is distinctively his own. In 1998, TAKE made gAn Empty Can by the Roadside,h a self-funded independent film. A sometime-mural painter, TAKE has even published a novel in 2006.
gI figured that my humble life has so little impact on others that itfs OK for me to live freely. After listening to lots of different opinions, I decided to keep on doing what I have always done | live MY life. Ifll just trust my own fate. No matter what happens, I will have nothing to regret,h says TAKE who, by employing various techniques and tools, continues to exploit the idea of gA question without an answer, a smile without a reason.h

The latest exhibition features, in addition to over 20 paintings, a new 3-D objet dfart entitled gAnd Yet I Keep on Walking,h a set of 4 figures, each about 10 inches tall.

When you meet gShinpah and other works by TAKE, You will find yourself enveloped in a gsimple, good feeling,h and saying gI feel good.h
