Jo’burg Series

Visiting Johannesburg, South Africa, I discovered a vibrant, energetic, and fashionable metropolis where I found beads from all over the African continent. Unusual antique and vintage beads and fossilized sea shells, caught my interest. I spray painted the Jacaranda seed pods I found in the front yard of my host’s home for a set of necklace and earrings. Included in some of the necklaces are handblown glass beads, a TOPPI(突飛)NYC vocabulary to give necklaces a ‘breathe of air’ between solid beads.
