HAFH
ll Exhibition
Tama Art University's
Alumni Association - New York Club presents an exhibition entitled
"HAFH II" of paintings, sculptures, prints and works
on paper by its members. We'd like to ask you to come see the
exhibition.
The Alumni Association's
New York Club established in 2003 currently has a membership of
nearly 50 New York City and New Jersey residents, along with a
few from Japan. It consists of professionals, artists, designers,
architects, and others. The exhibitors this time are 16 artists
from among the membership.
Although we attended
the same alma mater, it does not necessary mean that we share
the same thoughts: 'Tamabi was a long time ago' to 'It's always
close to my heart. However, the objective of the Club is to coexist
within the tristate area to support individual and mutual efforts.
"HAFH" is an abbreviation from 'Home Away From Home"
which could suggest a sentiment of looking back to one's past.
Yet, our primary purpose for coming to New York was, and still
is to look forward. The motivation to do creative work in the
studio can often be simple and primogenial, and yet this energy
can be the source and basis for a breakthrough in expression.
"HAFH" in this light provides a positive means.
The Club's activities
for the past year included HAFH I, participation in the Alumni
Association's Kanagawa, Hiroshima and Fukuoka Branchs' exhibitions.
"HAFA III' in New York is currently being planned. |
