多摩美術大学校友会ニューヨーククラブは、来る９月１４日より、ニューヨーク、ノース・セーラムにあるハモンド美術館において展覧会　「ホーム・アウェイ・フロム・ホーム〜多摩美術大学校友会ニューヨーククラブ」（以下HAFH展）を開催致します。

多摩美術大学校友会ニューヨーククラブは2003年に発足し、会員はトライステイトエリア在住者を中心に、日本からの加入者も含め約８０名を数えています。当クラブは日本の美術大学の海外所在校友会中としては、最大規模のものとなっています。本展には、その内２５名が参加します。
「Home Away From Home」は、「故郷を離れた故郷」 という意味です。このタイトルには二つの意図が込められています。一つ目は、アイデンティティを自覚すること。もう一つは、ニューヨークという世界のアートマーケットの中心での研鑽がもたらす、自らの殻を破るような、創造の成果の発表を目指すことです。
HAFH展は、2004年から始まり、今回で７回目となりました。本展は毎年、幅広い年代のアーティストが集まり、統一された作風ではなく、油絵、版画、彫刻等、また具象や抽象など、個々それぞれの表現方法と感性を持った個性溢れる作品展として高い評価を受けてきました。
本展は、チェルシーにあるギャラリー、またある時は、アートフェアの一角など、年々変化するニューヨークアートシーンにおいてもっとも注目される場所において開催されてきました。今回は、周囲には自然があり、日本庭園も備えるなど、過去６回とは全く趣を異にするハモンド美術館とのコラボーレーションで、その相乗作用は今回の最大の見所でもあります。皆様のご来場を心よりお待ちしております。
We'd like to announce that "Home Away From Home” (HAFH), The Alumni Association of Tama Art University NY Club Exhibition, will be held September 14 - November 19, 2011 at the Hammond Museum in North Salem, NY.
TAMA Art University Alumni Association's NY Club, established in 2003, currently has a membership of nearly 80: mostly Tristate area residents plus some residents of Japan. It is the largest overseas club of a Japan art university alumni association. 25 member artists will participate in this exhibition.
HAFH is an acronym of Home Away From Home. There are two meanings, two points to this title. The first is to be conscious of our identity. The other is to present creations that break through our own barriers by making our efforts in New York, the center of the world’s art market.
The first HAFH Exhibition was in 2004; this is the seventh HAFH exhibition. HAFH has earned a top reputation as a fully fascinating exhibition where participating artists display their unique expressions and sensibilities. It has been held in many attractive locations, including galleries in Chelsea and as part of an art fair; this reflects the fast-paced changes of the New York art scene.
For our 2011 exhibition, we have gathered a wide range of artists representing many generations and different styles: oil painting, printing, sculpture, representational art, and abstract art. Many of the artists this year have created their works with the venue of the Hammond Museum in mind. Most promising for this exhibition are synergistic interactions between the artists and the Hammond Museum, which has a Japanese garden and is surrounded by nature.

搬入も終ってホット安心、美しい空間が出来ました。
オープニングレセプション前日の風景、準備も整いあとは、明日のオープニングをまつばかりです。
ジャパンソサエティで開催されている”ファイバーアート展”の出品者，及び関係者の方々がお忙しい時間をさいて、ハモンド美術館までHAFH展を見に来て下さいました。懐かしいお顔が並んでいます。わたなべひろこ先生、弥永保子先生、多摩美美術館の小林博道先生、椿操さん、などなど、、、ハモンド美術館の空間と私達の作品を満喫してお帰りになりました。
遂にレセプション当日、沢山の人たちが美術館を訪れました。先ずはワインを一杯飲んでからご挨拶。多摩美NYクラブも有名になりましたね。
表千家、紅林久江先生のお手前で、美術館のお茶室でお茶会を行ないました。毎回満員御礼で２回のはずが、４回も、、、。本当にお疲れ様でした。
小さなアーティストも会場にきてくれました。
